How Thrive Rx Works: Step by Step

A complete walkthrough of your Thrive Rx journey — from signing up and choosing a membership tier through to pathology testing, your first telehealth consultation, and ongoing clinical monitoring.

Getting started with Thrive Rx is straightforward. Here's a step-by-step overview of what to expect from the moment you sign up through to your ongoing care.

Step 1: Choose Your Membership Tier

Start by selecting a membership tier that aligns with your health goals and the level of insight you're looking for. Each tier includes telehealth consultations, pathology testing, and biomarker tracking — they differ in the depth and breadth of testing, and the frequency of clinical reviews.

You can view a full comparison of what each tier includes in our Membership Tiers Explained article. If you're unsure which tier is right for you, our support team can help guide your decision.

Step 2: Complete Your Health Profile

Once you've selected your tier, you'll be asked to complete a comprehensive health questionnaire. This covers:

  • Your medical history and any current diagnoses

  • Medications and supplements you're currently taking

  • Family health history

  • Lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, sleep, and stress

  • Your personal health goals and areas of focus

This information gives your clinician the context they need to interpret your pathology results and build a care plan that's tailored to you. Please be as thorough and accurate as possible — the more your clinician knows, the better they can support you.

Step 3: Attend Your Pathology Collection

After completing your health profile, you'll receive instructions for your pathology collection — a blood test conducted at one of our partner pathology labs across Australia.

What to know before your blood test:

  • Fasting may be required — Your instructions will specify whether you need to fast (typically 10–12 hours, water is fine). This ensures accurate results for metabolic and hormonal markers.

  • Timing matters — Some biomarkers, particularly hormones, are best tested in the morning. Your instructions will include recommended timing.

  • Bring your pathology request — You'll receive a digital or printable request form to present at the collection centre.

Results are typically available within 5–7 business days and are uploaded directly to your personal biomarker dashboard in the Thrive Rx platform.

Step 4: Your First Telehealth Consultation

Once your results are in, you'll be booked for a telehealth consultation with your Thrive Rx clinician. This is a detailed, one-on-one telehealth appointment where you'll:

  • Review your pathology results together — Your clinician will walk you through each biomarker, explain what the numbers mean, and highlight areas of interest or concern.

  • Discuss your health goals — Whether you're focused on energy, sleep, metabolic health, hormonal balance, or general optimisation, this is where your goals shape the plan.

  • Receive your personalised care plan — Based on your results and goals, your clinician will outline recommended next steps. This may include lifestyle modifications, nutritional guidance, or — where clinically appropriate — prescribed interventions.

If your clinician recommends a prescription medication, they will explain the clinical rationale, discuss potential risks and benefits, and obtain your informed consent before proceeding. All prescribing decisions are evidence-based and supported by your pathology.

For tips on preparing for this appointment, see What to Expect in Your First Telehealth Consultation.

Step 5: Receive Your Care Plan and Any Prescribed Medications

Following your consultation, your personalised care plan will be available in the Thrive Rx platform. If your clinician has prescribed any medications, these are dispensed by an Australian pharmacy that complies with TGA requirements and delivered directly to your door.

Your care plan will include:

  • A summary of your key biomarkers and what they indicate

  • Recommended lifestyle or nutritional adjustments

  • Details of any prescribed treatments, including dosage and administration guidance

  • Your monitoring schedule and next review date

Step 6: Ongoing Monitoring and Follow-Up

Thrive Rx isn't a one-off consultation — it's a structured, ongoing clinical relationship designed to track your progress and adjust your plan over time. Here's what ongoing care looks like:

  • 4-week check-in — A short questionnaire to assess how you're feeling, any changes you've noticed, and whether you have questions for your clinician.

  • 8-week check-in — A follow-up questionnaire that helps your clinician monitor your response and flag anything that needs attention.

  • 12-week clinical review — A telehealth consultation to formally review your progress, discuss your experience, and make any adjustments to your care plan.

  • 6-month repeat pathology — A follow-up blood test to objectively measure changes in your biomarkers and inform the next phase of your care.

This cycle of test, consult, monitor, and retest continues for as long as you're a Thrive Rx member, giving you and your clinician a clear, data-driven picture of your health trajectory.
