Medication Delivery: What to Expect

Everything you need to know about how your prescribed medications are delivered — shipping timelines, cold-chain handling, tracking, and what to do if there's an issue.

Updated today

Once your clinician has prescribed medication and it has been dispensed, it's shipped directly to your nominated address. Here's what to expect.

Shipping Timeline

After your prescription is issued and the pharmacy has prepared your medication, delivery typically takes:

  • Metro areas — 1–3 business days

  • Regional and rural areas — 2–5 business days

Timelines may vary depending on your location, the pharmacy's preparation schedule, and the courier service. If your medication requires compounding, there may be an additional 10–14 business days for preparation before shipping.

Tracking Your Delivery

You'll receive tracking information once your medication has been dispatched. This allows you to monitor the progress of your delivery and plan to be available to receive it if needed.

Cold-Chain and Temperature-Sensitive Medications

Some medications need to be kept within a specific temperature range during transit. If your medication requires cold-chain handling:

  • It will be packed with appropriate insulation and cooling materials

  • The packaging is designed to maintain the correct temperature for the expected transit time

  • You should refrigerate the medication promptly upon arrival, as directed on the label

If you receive a temperature-sensitive medication and the packaging appears damaged, or the product looks compromised in any way, do not use it. Contact our support team immediately and we'll arrange a replacement.

Receiving Your Delivery

Depending on the courier and your location, delivery may require a signature. If you're not available:

  • The courier may leave the package in a safe place (if you've authorised this)

  • A redelivery attempt may be scheduled

  • You may be able to collect from a nearby pickup point

For temperature-sensitive medications, it's important to arrange for someone to receive the delivery if you won't be home, to avoid the medication being left in the heat or cold for extended periods.

Checking Your Delivery

When your medication arrives, please check:

  • The contents match your prescription (medication name, strength, quantity)

  • The packaging is intact and undamaged

  • Storage instructions are clearly labelled

  • The expiry date is clearly visible and has not passed

If anything looks incorrect or you have questions about what you've received, contact our support team before using the medication.

Delivery Issues

If your delivery is delayed, lost, or arrives damaged, contact our support team and we'll work with the pharmacy and courier to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We understand that delays with medication can be stressful, and we treat these cases as a priority.
